- Child - Original Location is updated - Child Location = Original Location and Arrived at Location Date = Care Admitted Date or the current date (if empty)

Delete Child Location Timeline
In SAM, open desired Child record > locate Child Location records > click kebab menu (row right) > Delete (trashcan) > click OK to confirm |
Child Location Timeline records are setup directly under the Child and under Placements. The way your agency tracks these records will vary depending on your programs.
Child Original Location
The Child Original Location is where a Child is placed for International Adoption programs. This notes the Orphanage or group home the child is residing.
Child Original Location, such as an orphanage or a foster home should be entered separately from a child using Organization records. Child Original Location address fields are updated from the address on the Organization record entered in this field.
City, State/Region and Country can be entered by themselves without selecting a Child Location (Organization record) if no other information is known.
Connect a Child and Birth Parent
|
Child to Birth Mother: In SAM, open desired Child record > click on Birth Mother > search Birth Mother name > Save Child to Birth Father: In SAM, open Birth Mother record > Birth Mother's Children > click Birth Father edit (pencil icon) > search Birth Father name > Save |
When entering a birth mother or a birth father for a child, SAM will search for other children with the same birth parents and add the related children in a sibling group.
Birth Mother Cases
When you enter a Birth Mother on the Child record, the Child will automatically link to her latest case. You can manually modify the Birth Mother Case ID field if you made a mistake, like you forgot to add a new BM Case before linking up the Child and Birth Mother.
Child Siblings
Child Siblings are connected through the Sibling in Care Form. This form is accessible from the Child's Cover Page Sidebar.
Connect a sibling
This is used for siblings who are entered as Child records in SAM, not for children outside of your care. For siblings not in care, use the Contacts & Supports link on the sidebar instead.
