Use Public Forms to allow Families to Create Records
Public Forms are available to integrate with your website or send through email, so families can enter themselves directly into the system.
In SAM, click Settings (gear icon) > Tools > Forms > Public Form Links (sidebar) Use Inquiry forms under Family or Foster Family to share public form links on your website, allowing families to complete forms online and enter themselves directly into SAM. |
Persons in Home / Household Members
Persons in Home provides information about other people living in a family's home other than the adoptive or foster parents.
When a family is both a foster family and adoptive family, the Persons in Home information is shared and updated on both forms.
Document requirements for Persons in Home
Often, documents are needed for licensing/home study that are for people that live in the home.
Use the Person in Home table/forms or checklists based on Person in Home to collect documents for these records.
From Checklists, create a Checklist Section based on Persons in Home.
Adoptive Child Preferences
Families can input desired characteristics for an adoptive child, including age, special needs, and preferred country program participation. Multiple records can be created to accept new preferences after training.
| In SAM, open Family record > click Adoptive Child Preferences (sidebar) > click Add Adoptive Child Preferences (sidebar) > enter details > Save |
Divorce
For Families that divorce, we recommend creating a new Family record for the parent that the child does not primarily live with.
