Insert Document Link (such as a PDF)
Use this option to send attachments through templated emails. Using this option, SAM will create a link for recipients to download documents vs sending attachments. This option saves space with your email provider and provides recipients with a cleaner experience to download information.
NOTE: Documents linked to templates are public. Do NOT upload sensitive documents or those that contain Personally Identifiable Information (PII).
In SAM, click Settings (gear icon) > Tools > Templates > choose Template > Advanced Options > Insert Document Link > select the document from your local drive > enter text for the link > Save |
Insert Form Link
Include a link to an internal SAM form to link your team directly to a record.
In SAM, click Settings (gear icon) > Tools > Templates > choose Template > Insert from SAM (sidebar) > Insert Form Link > select the Form you want the Template to take the recipient to > Save |
Templates based on multi-record forms do not allow users to add forms higher up in the hierarchy. However, users can copy a form link from another template onto the multi-record template.
Insert Fields from Form
This function allows all fields from a SAM Form to be inserted on a Template. SAM Leads won't need to insert each field individually, saving time in creating the template.
|
In SAM, click Settings (gear icon) > Tools > Templates > choose Template > Insert from SAM (sidebar) > Insert All Fields from Form > select the Form you want the Template to take the recipient to > Save Section Headings and Fields are added in the order of the Form. |
When Templates are based on forms that contain subforms, each subform will need to be pulled individually onto a template. Subforms based on Multi-record tables will need to be pulled from a Template Report or Multi-record Template.
Insert Multi-Record Section
Template-Reports and Multi-Record Templates allow you to pull multi-record Tables onto a Template.

Styling
Experience with CSS is necessary for customization to add or edit styles.
Styling for these reports is handled from two areas:
|
In SAM, click Settings (gear icon) > Tools > Templates > Edit Report Styles (sidebar) > Add List Item (new style) or edit an existing style In SAM, click Settings > Tools > Reports > Report Builder > select the report used on the Template > Advanced Options > Misc Advanced Options > Edit the Template-Report Style |
- Limit the number of rows shown on a Template-Report by entering a number for the Template-Report Limit Number of Rows Returned To, available on Template-Report Styles.
- Format memo fields to show on a second line, so the text is not crunched. Open Field Properties for the memo field > Update Template-Report - Show on Separate Row = Yes.
- If your report is not pulling properly, try to regenerate the Template-Report. Open Report Builder > Advanced Options > "Regen Template-Report".
