Multi-Factor Authentication is a security method that requires you to provide two or more verification factors to access your account, ensuring even stronger security.
1. Login as Usual - Access SAM using your existing username and password.
2. MFA Activation - After entering your credentials, you will receive a prompt to activate MFA. This involves confirming your identity by entering a 6-digit code.
3. Code Delivery by email - SAM will send a unique 6-digit code to your registered email address. Be sure to check your inbox for an email from us containing this code. To ensure you receive our emails promptly, consider adding hello@mysamdb.com to your email contacts or safe sender list.
4. Code Entry - Enter the 6-digit code into the space provided on the login page to complete login.
Option to Register this Device
SAM Leads can allow users of their organization's SAM site to register their devices. This allows SAM to remember that user's device for a set period of time, rather than enter an MFA code at each login.
Setup Register this Device
|
In SAM, click Settings (gear icon) > Security Center > Forms Security Settings (sidebar) > click value for Security | MFA Allows Register Device to edit > click checkbox to update to 'Yes' > Save Set Register Device Number of Days to either 1 day, 7 days, or 30 days depending on your security policies. Please note: InReach Solutions' best practice for MFA is to require the code at each login. Your team is responsible for updates to this setting. |
Important Notes
|
Suspended Emails
If the email provider that sends MFA emails gets a bounce back, the email address may go onto a suspension list. The email address may be marked as temporary or permanent. If the address is permanent, the email provider will no longer send emails to this email address. SAM's Support team will be notified and we will notify a SAM Lead on your team to respond to the issue.
