Using Reports, you can import simple spreadsheets (CSV) into SAM.
Prerequisites
- Spreadsheet to import, saved as comma separate values (CSV).
- Create a Report with exact column order as your spreadsheet to map columns to fields in SAM.
Notes
- Name columns must be divided prior to upload into First Name and Last Name fields. Make sure your first/last name order for columns is correct before import.
Import Data
In SAM, open desired report > click Options > Advanced Options > Import Data > upload CSV > Save > Review the mapping > check 'Use Existing Case when Exists' if importing records previously entered and no additional Case should be added > Table and Field dropdowns can be used to remap (optional, as needed). Press Confirm when you are ready or 'Cancel and Edit' to make edits. |
Important Notes
- SAM will show an error message if you choose fields that cannot be imported, such as calculations and non-editable fields.
- Records may be matched to existing records when 'Use Existing Case when Exists' is checked.
Imported Data Report
When confirmed and finished processing, SAM will share a link to a Report of Migrated Records.
Notes
- Report is filtered by the 'Imported From' field for newly added records.
- Matched records will not be shown in this report.
- Record Count on the report may not match the number of rows in your spreadsheet when matching occurs.
