Adoptive Child Preferences can assist your team with matching a Family and Child.
Families can enter a set of characteristics for an adoptive child that the family would prefer for the child to have, such as age, special needs and from what country program the family is interested in participating in.
If the adoptive preferences are not shown, you can find these by clicking “Edit Family” on the side bar from the Family form. If the family has preferences, choose the “yes” radio button and details will open to enter.
You can enter as much or little as necessary. If preferences are chosen, they will display on the family form. You can edit the preferences from the form if shown. If none are listed, the Adoptive Child Preferences section will not be shown on the family form.
Interested program/country
This field is available to allow families to share their interests in your programs at inquiry or very early in the process.
This does not prevent a family from being referred/adopt children outside of the selection, nor does it need to match the Case Program/Country in which the child is placed.
Min Age and Max Age
The Min Age and Max Age fields are special because they are setup as drop-down lists to make sure that users enter a valid age. There are additional "Min Age in Years", "Min Age in Months" and "Max Age in Years", "Max Age in Months" fields associated with them.
The "Min/Max Age in Years" and "Min/Max Age in Months" are view-only fields that are meant to be used to search on reports or any other places where criteria is entered.
When entering new List Items to the "Child Preference Age Range" list, please make sure you enter the "Age in Months" in order for the "Min/Max Age in Years" and "Min/Max Age in Months" fields to work. "
