These are common functions users will use to modify a client's record relating to their case(s) in SAM.
Add a New Case
When a client is using your services again, or returning for a different service, you should Add a New Case, rather than overwrite the previous information to maintain a full client record.
1. Open the record's Cover Page
2. Click Advanced Options
3. Add New Case
4. SAM will take you to an Edit form with Case related fields. Press Save.
You may be taken to the Case Details page, or the cover page, depending on your agency's setup.
Removing a Case
In rare instances, a client may have a case created by mistake. This can happen as a result of your team accidentally adding a new case, or if the client fills out a form that triggers a new case to be created.
- Start from the case you want to delete.
- Click Advanced Options > Delete Case.
Modify Case Numbers
When client records are merged, SAM does not assume a Case Number order for the client record. Should cases need to be rearranged for order, users can access the Family Case # field and update it manually.
Change which case a sub-record is linked
For various reasons, a sub-record, such as an Adoption or Placement may be under the incorrect case. In these situations, users can change the case linked.
